Sam's Routes and Cities Along The Way

SAM REESE SHEPPARD will walk through many towns and cities between Washington, DC & Bay Village, Ohio. Click Here to see if your town or village is in this list. The following schedule includes the dates that Sam will be arriving in specific areas. It is tentative and is based on 20 mile walking days. Shorter walking days and extra break days will be factored in to accomodate for fatigue, bad weather days, and other unforeseen opportunities or delays. The walk will end in Cleveland and Bay Village on October 17, 1999. If you know people in or near any of these places, please encourage them to come out and greet Sam as he passes through!

Friday, September 17: Press conference, Washington, DC
Saturday, September 18: Rally/launch from the U.S. Supreme Court walk out of DC area on River Road/190 to just beyond 475
Sunday, September 19: Walk to about Poolesville, MD
Monday, September 20: Walk to just below Frederick, MD
Tuesday, September 21: Walk through and beyond Frederick, turning west on Alternate 40 and 144 across MD
Wednesday, September 22: Break Day Thursday,
Thursday, September 23: Walk through and beyond Hagerstown SPEAKING EVENT IN EVENING at UB's Merrick School of Business in Baltimore.
Friday, September 24: Walk to about Hancock, MD SPEAKING EVENT IN HAGERSTOWN
Saturday, September 25: Walk to about Bell Grove
Sunday, September 26: Break Day - Sam will speak at the Church of the Brethren in Westernport at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.
Monday, September 27: Walk to about Rocky Gap. Sam will speak at the school building of St. Mary's Church, 300 E. Old Town Rd. at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.
Tuesday, September 28: Walk through and beyond Cumberland SPEAKING EVENT IN FROSTBERG
Wednesday, September 29: Walk on Rt. 40 into Pennsylvania to about Elk Park
Thursday, September 30: Break Day
Friday, October 1: Walk through Uniontown to about Uledi
Saturday, October 2: Break Day - Visit Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution at Greene County
Sunday, October 3: Walk to about Waynesberg
Monday, October 4: Walk through Waynesburg, turning north. Drive to Cleveland in the evening.
Tuesday, October 5: Day is spent in Cleveland dealing with the exhumation of Marilyn Reese Sheppard. PUBLIC MEMORIAL SERVICE IN THE EVENING. Return to Pennsylvania that night.
Wednesday, October 6: Exhumation continues in Cleveland
Thursday, October 7: Walk through Washington, PA
Friday, October 8: Walk to about Lawrenceville
Saturday, October 9: Cross into Ohio at East Liverpool People are invited to March with Sam into Ohio - Wear yellow.
Sunday, October 10: Break Day
